Possible Reason WWE Added Emma to the Fatal 4-Way Match, Mae Young Classic Winner Not Receiving the NXT Women's Title

- Dave Meltzer speculated on the recent installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the reason WWE added Emma into the Fatal 4-Way for the Women’s Championship match at WWE No Mercy would be so that she could take the pinfall or submission in the match.

The belief is that it’s unlikely that either Alexa Bliss or Nia Jax will be the one to to get pinned and the thinking may also be that it’s too soon for Sasha Banks to take a pin as well.

- As seen on Wednesday’s episode of NXT, WWE aired the footage of Asuka relinquishing the NXT Women’s Championship title that was taped a few weeks back at Full Sail University.

There were plans at one point that the winner of the Mae Young Classic Tounament would receive the NXT championship, however that’s not the case anymore.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that he doesn’t believe that the winner would be receiving the NXT Women’s Championship because William Regal said that he would be “thinking it over” for the next several weeks.

Meltzer said plans can always change and they could award the winner of the tournament but also indicated that it’s very unlikely at this point.
